The center is currently in its start-up phase, however, it already has started to conduct low-risk clinical trials centering on innovative healthcare product and device development, clinical research process adaptive design and evaluation, and interdisciplinary collaboration among multiple ASU departments and colleges, community healthcare institutional partners, and biotechnical companies. A clinical trial on a cardio-graphic impedance device has successfully been done and several other innovative medical device clinical trials are in development.

- Interdisciplinary medical and healthcare product, physical environment, and process/outcome development collaborations that lower complexity, offer more convenience, improve quality in the delivery of healthcare, and empower an informed consumer and health care practitioner in making product choices
- Creation and execution of product development plans for new product concepts from students, faculty and other individuals including healthcare providers
- Research and testing through clinical trials for new healthcare devices, physical environments, products and processes
- Educational offerings for clinical research management, healthcare innovation, healthcare product and environment design for nursing, allied health professionals, community physicians and biotechnical entity personnel
