Checklist for Advancing to the Upper Division Nursing Program

Are you ready to apply to the upper division Nursing program?

Have you applied to Arizona State University as a nursing major seeking regular admission as an undergraduate student?

Have you had your official transcripts sent to ASU Undergraduate Admissions from all previously attended institutions, including any dual enrollment course work, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), or Advanced Placement (AP) scores?

If you are an international student, have you earned a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT), or 83 (iBT) as required by the College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation?

If this is your first Bachelor's degree, have you completed, or will you have completed by the deadline, at least 13 of the necessary critical tracking courses, including ENG 101, ENG 102, 3 lab sciences from BIO 201, BIO 202, CHM 101, MIC 205/206 taken within the last 7 years, and 8 other critical tracking courses?

If you have previously earned a Bachelor's degree, do you have, or will you have completed at the time of application, at least 10 of the necessary critical tracking courses, including the 3 lab sciences taken within the last 7 years, and 7 other prerequisites? The 10 prerequisites exclude ENG101, ENG102 and PHI103, which are waived for second degree students. See your academic advisor at the College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation for more information.

Does your GPA meet or exceed the 2.75 minimum critical tracking grade point average, with all courses completed with a "C" or better by the deadline?

If you have been attending Arizona State University, are you in good academic standing with the university/college?

Have you filed your "Application for  Equivalency of First Year Composition Requirements (MS Word Doc)?" If you have transferred in English composition courses from outside of the public college and university system in Arizona, you need to have those courses evaluated by the Writing Programs Office.
