Admission to the bsn major at asu

Students admitted to the BSN major take critical tracking courses before requesting advancement to the Upper Division Nursing program.

Please Note: Advancement to the Upper Division Nursing program is highly competitive and limited by available resources. More students enroll in critical tracking courses as nursing majors than can advance to the Upper Division Nursing program. A minimum prerequisite GPA of 2.75 is required to be considered for advancement; however, advancement is highly competitive and usually requires a higher GPA.

criteria for advancement to the upper division Nursing Program
  • Regular admission to Arizona State University College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation
  • In good academic standing with ASU and the College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation
  • Minimum critical tracking GPA of 2.75.  Completion of designated critical tracking courses with an earned grade of "C" or better in each course
  • Submission of additional materials (e.g., immunizations, fingerprint clearance, etc.)
  • Nurse Entrance Test (NET) scores and essay
  • Completion of all critical tracking requirements with an earned grade of “C” or better

Advancement to the Upper Division Nursing program is determined twice a year:

  • December 1st for Fall semester
  • July 1st for Spring semester
