Barbara Durand

The College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation at ASU is pleased to offer the Don Tapia Nursing Fellowships in honor of Dean Barbara Durand for its PhD in Nursing & Healthcare Innovation students. The fellowships help to attract some of the best prospective doctoral students in the state and country by lightening the students’ financial load.

The fellowships will not only assist future doctoral students, but also help meet the nursing faculty shortage. It is anticipated that many of the graduates will pursue roles in academia, educating future generations of nurses.

The Don Tapia Nursing Fellowships honor Dean Barbara Durand, who retired in 2004 after serving 12 years as dean of the College of Nursing. "I’m thrilled to be a part of this doctoral program that we worked so hard and so long to get established," says Durand.
