Official GRE scores are recommended, but not required.

application process:

A completed application must be submitted by February 15 for fall admission. Please ensure you have done all of the following when submitting your application:

  • Please visit the ASU Graduate College web site to start the application process and pay the appropriate fees. You will be required to upload the following items:
    • Resume
    • Statement of professional goals
    • Research interest essay
    • Contemporary nursing issues essay
  • Have your official GRE scores and transcripts from all schools attended sent to the Graduate College.
  • Please submit your Creative/research activities and have your three letters of recommendation sent to the PhD Program office.
Admission Requirements:
  • Bachelors or masters degree in nursing or related field from an accredited program.
  • International applicants: If you are from a country whose native language is not English, you must meet the previous qualifications and provide evidence of English proficiency as indicated by acceptable scores on the TOEFL. Acceptable TOEFL scores are:  550 (PBT) or 213 (CBT) or 83 (iBT).

NOTE: Prerequisites for post-masters applicants include completion of a 3 credit hour, graduate level inferential statistics course within the last five years with attainment of a grade of "B" or higher.
