The College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation is addressing this critical need through an exciting series of hybrid (electronic & some face to face) delivered classes. The Nurse Educator options available to you at ASU include two pathways:
- Master’s of Science (MS) in nursing education (full-time students) with a
concentration in:- BSN-MS - Adult Health (PDF)
- BSN-MS - Child/Family Psych Mental Health (PDF)
- BSN-MS - Family Health (PDF)
- BSN-MS - Gerontology (PDF)
- BSN-MS - Neonates (PDF)
- BSN-MS - Pediatrics (PDF)
- BSN-MS - Adult Psych/Mental Health (PDF)
- BSN-MS - Womens' Health (PDF)
- Graduate Certificate in nursing education
At the core of both programs are 15 credit hours of courses and a practicum which focus on the science and art of nursing education. Students who choose the Nurse Educator (NED) Graduate Certificate pathway must have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Nursing. At the completion of the program, NED certificate and MS students may be eligible to take the National League for Nursing certification exam; please see Eligibility Requirements.
If you are interested in a Master’s degree, you must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The NED Master of Science courses are embedded in a 45 credit degree program in which you choose a specialty concentration. Courses can be completed during the summer or any combination of year round schedules.
