Program Admission Requirements
Applicants to the MHI program will be accepted once a year for either full-time or part-time admission. Many students select a part-time course of study with the knowledge that the curriculum must be completed in no longer than 3 years. Courses in the Master of Healthcare Innovation will also be offered to students in the planned Doctor of Nursing Practice, as part of that program for the post-master students and the current Doctor of Nursing Science as electives.
- Potential applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (nursing or non-nursing) are eligible to apply to the program. Regular admission may be granted to applicants who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or better in the last two years of study leading to a bachelor’s degree. Applicants will be required to submit an official ASU graduate application, official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate course work, a statement of the candidates vision of their role and goals as a leader of healthcare innovation and how this program will assist them in attaining their related goals, an interview, and three letters of recommendation (two of which should be academic recommendations).
- The MHI program consists of 33-semester hours. As part of the 33 hours, students will be required to complete 6-semester hours of a Capstone Innovation project to design, formulate, and evaluate an innovation proposal within the healthcare system. This culminating experience will be required in place of a thesis. Capstone projects will be presented to fellow students, stakeholders, and faculty at the end of the program.
