Center for Improving Health Outcomes for Children, Teens and Families

The changing nature of childhood and adolescent morbidities and mortality over recent decades prompted the creation of the Center for Improving Health Outcomes in Children, Teens, and Families at the Arizona State University College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation. The center focuses on multidisciplinary research to develop and test interventions that will lead to optimal health outcomes for high-risk children, teens, and families in a culturally diverse world.

  • Cluster research initiatives
  • Obtain funding from National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and foundations
  • Disseminate findings from faculty research through publications and presentations
  • Translate research findings into practice to improve patient outcomes
  • Become nationally and internationally visible in the areas of faculty expertise
  • Consult with interested parties regarding research development and implementation
  • Foster skills necessary for effective action to strengthen families
  • Develop and disseminate community resources that support the diverse functions of families
  • Consult regarding policy decisions and the implications of policy decisions on family functioning and child health and wellness
  • Consult on evidence-based practice issues in care of children and families
