The Computer Library Commons (F210) location offers a variety of opportunities to assist students be successful in their nursing program. 

Students have access to the Internet, e-mail, web enhanced courses, and a variety of educational software.

  • 40 computers with Microsoft office software and Internet access.
  • Nursing software on the computers includes such things as immobilization charting, Newborn and Gestational Age Assessment, Neurological Assessment, Heart Sounds, Arterial Blood Gases, Clinical and Critical Care Skills, and NCLEX review.

The Computer Library Commons (CLC) (F210) houses materials on reserve for nursing and pre-nursing courses and has a collection of health-related resources, student-focused media, posters, models and a variety of medical equipment. There is also community health education materials such as models, posters, etc.

Guidelines for Checking out materials:

  • Reserve materials at least 2 days in advance by completing the Equipment Request Form online or the form may also be picked up in the Computer Library Commons. Include the number of items needed and as much detail as possible.
  • The CLC will have requested equipment tagged and ready for pick up in F210.
  • An appointment should be made prior to the day of use if the patron needs training on how to use requested equipment.
  • Students should obtain faculty signature to checkout media equipment or other high priced items.
  • Materials may be checked out for longer than the established time frame if the item is not in frequent use or been reserved. The patron must discuss due date with the LRC staff during the checkout process to assure proper recording.
  • Faculty, who plan activities that require disposable equipment, should discuss needs with LRC staff at least one month prior to the beginning of the semester in order to assure adequate supplies.
  • Overdue notices will be sent by e-mail and materials must be returned ASAP or a call made to the CLC (602) 496-1419 to make other arrangements.

The Learning Resource Center provides staff support and select portable equipment for off site use.

  • CLC will have requested equipment tagged and ready in F210 for faculty pickup and return.
  • An appointment should be made prior to the day of use if the patron needs training on how to use media equipment.

Reserve Readings
  • Any reserve materials to be placed in the Computer Library Commons must be accompanied by a filled out reserve reading form (MS Word or PDF).
  • Materials will be returned to faculty at the end of the semester.
Testing in the computer library commons (clc)
  • The CLC does not provide a testing or proctoring environment. If test taking is requested for the occasional student in the CLC, faculty must fill out the ASU College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation Testing Guidelines (MS Word or PDF) form and bring the test to the CLC.
