The mission of the College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation is to:
- Educate professional nurses and selected interdisciplinary healthcare professionals at the baccalaureate, graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral levels using a learner-centered, life-long learning approach to provide the highest quality of healthcare to individuals, groups, and communities, as well as to effectively respond to the changing healthcare needs of society.
- Conduct cutting-edge research that positively impacts healthcare and patient outcomes across the life span as well as strengthens the knowledge base of the discipline to benefit the health of individuals, groups and communities.
- Provide high quality healthcare services to the community through a range of nursing activities with diverse populations in a variety of settings.
- Launch innovative programs and entrepreneurial initiatives that enhance the quality of healthcare across a variety of clinical settings
- Provide national/international leadership in evidence-based practice.

- Provide outstanding educational programs
- Obtain a top 10 ranking in U.S.News & World Report and NIH Funding Ranking for Schools of Nursing
- Establish the Center for the Advancement of Evidence-Based Practice as a national/international leader in EBP
- Successfully operate and obtain sponsored funding for two nationally/internationally recognized interdisciplinary centers of excellence (i.e., the Center for Improving Health Outcomes in Children, Teens and Families; and the Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence).
- Expand continuing education programs so that graduates stay connected to the college and look to ASU for their life-long professional development.
- Provide outstanding healthcare services, including evidence-based healthcare information, to ASU faculty, staff, students and the community to further enhance community health, as well as to advance the college’s social embeddedness.
