Former Nursing Building, Tempe

From a small program which graduated only six nurses in the first class in 1960, the school has expanded to College status in the University, and awards Bachelor Degrees in Nursing to approximately 300 graduates each academic year. There are more than 1,600 undergraduate students in the college--654 freshmen and sophomores and 948 juniors and seniors. Enrolled in the graduate program, which began in 1968, are approximately 210 full and part-time students.

Until August 2006, the college was housed in a building dedicated in 1966 and located on Cady Mall at the ASU Tempe campus.

Current Nursing Building

In August 2006, the College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation moved to the new Downtown Phoenix Campus. The new building was extensively renovated to meet education and research requirements. An additional building adjacent to the new college building, which will house the ASU Health Center and Academy for Continuing Education is scheduled to be completed in 2009.
