This program for baccalaureate and higher education nurse educators is a 4-day immersion program designed to prepare faculty to integrate EBP across their nursing curricula. Held on the ASU Downtown Phoenix Campus, faculty will learn how to teach and mentor others to teach the EBP paradigm and process, including generating clinical questions, finding evidence, critical appraisal of research, implementation of evidence, data-driven decision making and evaluation of outcomes.
program objectives:
Participants will be able to:
1. Return to their school of nursing with course syllabi and teaching plans that incorporate strategies and assignments that advance EBP in academic settings
2. Mentor other faculty in the 5-step EBP process and in developing strategies to teach and integrate EBP in the curriculum.
Participants will develop strategies to:
- foster clinical inquiry
- develop answerable clinical questions
- critically appraise, synthesize and use research as evidence for clinical decision-making
- use internal evidence to affect outcomes
- apply evidence to practice
- evaluate outcomes of application of evidence
- develop skills for working as an inter- and intra-disciplinary team to accomplish best practices.
All participants will have didactic and interactive experiences in teaching EBP and mentorship techniques. Participants will be expected to come prepared to design teaching/learning strategies to integrate EBP within the courses they currently teach.
who should apply:
Nurse educators teaching in baccalaureate and higher education nursing programs who have a spirit of inquiry, a creative mind, and a desire to produce evidence-based practitioners.
Program fees:

- Individual participant: $2,000
- Participant Group of 3 or more from same agency: $1,750 each
- Fees due upon acceptance
- Fees paid after beginning of the program will incur a 10% late processing fee
