ADN and Diploma Nurse Educator

This 3-day immersion program, held on the ASU Downtown Phoenix Campus, is specifically designed for associate degree and diploma nurse educators.  Faculty will learn how to teach and mentor others to teach aspects of the EBP process, including principles and strategies to foster a spirit of inquiry, generating clinical questions, decision making based on practice generated data (e.g., QI/PI data), and evaluation of outcomes.  The focus of the program is on integration of EBP across associate degree and diploma nursing curricula.

Participants will be able to:

1. Return to their school of nursing with course syllabi and teaching plans that incorporate strategies and assignments that advance selected aspects of EBP in educational settings.

2. Mentor other faculty in selected steps of the EBP process and in developing strategies to teach and integrate EBP in the curriculum.

Participants will have didactic and interactive experiences in developing strategies to:

  • foster clinical inquiry
  • develop answerable clinical questions
  • use internal evidence to affect outcomes
  • apply evidence to practice
  • evaluate outcomes of application of evidence
  • develop skills for working as an inter- and intra-disciplinary team to accomplish best practices.

Participants will be expected to come prepared to design teaching/learning strategies and integrate these aspects of EBP within the courses they currently teach.

Nurse educators teaching in associate degree and diploma nursing programs who have a spirit of inquiry, creative mind, and a desire to produce evidence-based practitioners.

  • Individual participant: $1,500
  • Participant Group of 3 or more from same agency: $1,250 each
  • Fees due upon acceptance
  • Fees paid after beginning of the program will incur a 10% late processing fee
