ADN and Diploma Nurse Educator
The ADN and Diploma Nurse Educator program is a 3-day immersion program, that is held on the ASU Downtown Phoenix Campus, and is specifically designed for associate degree and diploma nurse educators. Faculty will learn how to teach and mentor others to teach aspects of the EBP process, including principles and strategies to foster a spirit of inquiry, generating clinical questions, decision making based on practice generated data (e.g., QI/PI data), and evaluation of outcomes. The focus of the program is on integration of EBP across associate degree and diploma nursing curricula. More Information
BSN and Higher Education Nurse Educator
The BSN and Higher Education Nurse Educator program is for baccalaureate and higher education nurse educators and is a 4-day immersion program designed to prepare faculty to integrate EBP across their nursing curricula. Held on the ASU Downtown Phoenix Campus, faculty will learn how to teach and mentor others to teach the EBP paradigm and process, including generating clinical questions, finding evidence, critical appraisal of research, implementation of evidence, data-driven decision making and evaluation of outcomes. Each participant will be able to purchase course text on first day of program. To purchase in advance, please contact Dennis Dripps at the ASU Bookstore.
Melnyk, B.M., & Fineout-Overholt, E . (2005). Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare: A Guide to Best Practice. Philadelphia: Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins. The course text will be available for purchase for those who have not already done so.
All participants are required to have a laptop computer with wireless capability.
Applicants will be selected for enrollment in the program upon review of the EBP Mentorship Application Form by the CAEP faculty. Applicants who are accepted into the program will be EBP Mentorship candidates and will be notified by e-mail. An EBP mentorship candidate packet will be mailed to each admitted participant.
The core of the mentorship programs is the opportunity to be mentored by expert faculty; to develop knowledge in EBP; advance EBP in organizations;
and mentor others in EBP.
